Let’s back track a bit to June 10th. Scholarship luncheon for our pancake reps.
This is always a highlight of our year meeting walking/talking validations of our
team work. This day there was another, particularly bright, highlight when
Fred and Holly Mottle walked through the door, and we are always glad to see
Ginny Redfield.
Since that date a lot has happened: Interact is getting off the ground. Many kids
showed up for the first and second meetings. Looking forward to up-dates from
Jim Brady.
Installation of Adam Winter as Club President on the 18th at Juniper Hill Golf Club
was most satisfactory. Adam’s mother, wife Lynn, and son and daughter were
properly proud even as Adam made his acceptance speech wearing the famous,
pooh bah, viking horns. Adam explained that the tone of this coming year will be
needs-based in keeping with the economic demands of the times.
In closing out his experience as President, Ron Goodenow expressed thanks and
acknowledged all the efforts of all of the members of the Club. He named Nancy
Berglund as Rotarian of the Year. (She knows any success she experienced
was not a singular effort.)
Board Meeting sharing:
The Fire Fund has reached $17,000
With Westboro Rotary a $1000 shelter box has been donated to Mynamar (sp)
DUES: Don’t forget! Now $85
SENIOR PICNIC...THIS TUESDAY, 24th ~ Need a lot of help. Good old Bruce
Bender will be blowing out the accumulated leaves in the fire pit. I think Addison
carries the torch! Many go to the Marlboro Fish & Game right from our lunch...so
can you. Set up, serving and all that helpful stuff.
RYLA week-end crew will be reporting on another great experience, hopefully.
Good things happening.
Love the followng from Mohammed Ali:
“Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.”
