At the Board Meeting on this day the following are some high-lights and a
review of our projects coming up sooner than you think.
First: I don’t know howmany pancakes it took, but we are able to award
scholarships in the amount of $8000. The awards night at ARHS is the 20th
of May and the recipients will be awarded the checks at our June 10th luncheon.
The scholarship committee selected eight deserving young people to receive
$1000 each.
Speaking of June...on the 3rd our guests will be the three RYLA sophmores
who will be taking part in the week-end activities June 20-23 at Worcester
State College this year. Plan to help out. It’s fun.
BUT WHAT ABOUT TOMORROW ? Our guest speaker will be Patricia Doyle,
sharing her presentation “A View from Dr. Ball’s Porch”...a historical visit to
Main Street Northboro.
INSTALLATION of our new President, Adam Winter, will take place somewhere
in the evening of June 18 at 6 pm. And because of that the Board voted to cancel
our regularly schedule lunch on Tuesday, June 17. Mark it down...you’ve been told.
There are plans afoot for perhaps video taping key parts of our luncheon meetings...
like guest speakers. Now, my notes say “feedback system/participation” and I
don’t know if that refers to the above...or...research into “e-clubs” which are
on-line make-ups. Evidentally there is a pilot project in the works in R.I., the state.
I’m sure we willl be hearing more about both those potential projects.
